Timmy Tebow!

  Tim Tebow was a outstanding college football player at the University of Florida. During his time as a college football play he one the most prestigious award in college football the Heisman trophy. During his time at Florida he didn't only win the Heisman he also took his team to two national championships and two victories. After college Tim entered the NFL Draft where he was taken the 25th overall pick my the Denver Broncos.

  Tim started his career in Denver where he didn't start but ended up taking over about half way through season this is where he came in and lead the Broncos to a playoff berth. After this year the Broncos traded Tebow away to the Jets. He went to the Jets but only played in a few games until hewas eventually cut him.  was eventually cut him.

Finally though after sitting out for a whole year off football Tim Tebow has got his second chance. After being on the SEC network and following college football Tim Tebow has been called back to play for the Eagles. The Eagles has chosen to sign Tebow to a one year deal. This I feel is a good move and cant wait to see Tebow get another shot to prove what he can do.

Aarron Hernandez

Aarron Hernandez was a great football player from the University of Florida where he was part of a BCS National Championship team. He was drafted in the fourth round in the 2010 draft by the New England Patriots as a tight end this is where he would play for three years until he came across some trouble.

Hernandez was released by the Patriots in June 2013 and on August 22, 2013 Hernandez was pick up for and charged with the murder Odin Lloyd a semi professional football player. Then as he was under trial for the murder of Lloyd on May 15, 2014 he was put on trial for the murders of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado and through everything he stayed with his innocence.

Finally after Hernandez had been on trial for almost two years it came to an end this week on April 15. Aaroon got the charges dropped of the double homicide but was convicted of the murder of Odin Lloyd. After being charged and found guilty the judge sentenced Hernandez to life in prison.

Retirements around the League

During this years post season there has been some very big retirements that have impacted teams and is the end of eras. One of the first retirements that comes to mind just happened this week and it is the announcement that Troy Polamalu a star in the league for many years for the Pittsburgh Steelers is leaving the game. Troy has made his mark in the game and is leaving a long list of All pro awards and some Superbowl wins in his rear view mirror. This is and end of a long era for the Steelers and will be a very impactful retirement for the Pittsburgh defense which has been one of the best for many years in the league.

Another big retirement was the All Pro linebacker Patrick Willis for the San Francisco 49ers that has been a very big impact on the league and has been a stud for many years. This was a very surprising retirement because many people thought he would have a couple more great years left in him, but after fighting through injuries for the last couple of seasons he decided it was to much on his body and decided to leave. Although he is leaving he has made a large impact in the league and will always be remembered as one of the greats. 

NFL Draft

The NFL Draft is one of the biggest events that happens in the Spring and with the Draft coming up on April the 30th means its almost here. This event is prestigious because its were the best college athletes find out if there dream of playing in the NFL will come true. The Draft consist of 7 rounds which means with 32 teams there is only 256 total picks to be taken.

As being the number one overall pick you are considered to be the best player in the Draft. That is why during this time of the year you mostly hear the talk about whose going number one and all the mock Drafts that people make to see where they think the players will go. 

Although the number one pick is important in the draft the best part of the draft might be to see who is Mr. Irrelevant which is the last pick in the NFL Draft number 256. This year will be another fun year for the draft and will be great to see who goes number one and who is the one and only Mr. Irrelevant. 

Rule changes may be coming soon!

 

This week was the big meeting week between GMs of all the teams and the Commissioner and during this meeting the talked about the trades that were made and the usual business side of football. But during this meeting the GMs had other things on there mind and this was to make some changes in the rules. As most people think of rules they think of changes in penalties but that is not what was in the discussion.
The changes that were proposed were changes of the 2pt conversion and the review of a pass inference call.
The 2 point conversation has been part of the game for a long time and is when a team doesn't decide to kick an extra point the try to run another play to gain two points. Well with the change proposed the GMs said that if a team goes for 2pt conversation and converts then they should get a chance to kick a 50 yard field goal to give an extra point a long with the two. If this change happens it could be a big part of the game and will definitely make the next NFL season interesting to see how many teams try for 2pt conversation since it was already a rare site to see.
The review of the pass interference call would definitely throw a twist into the game. Pass interference is a call that is made when a Defensive play interferes with the chance for a receiver to catch the ball as this call is made it is a 15 yard peneatly and normal results in an automatic first down for the offense. With this rule of them being allowed to reviewed would definitely change the game because sometimes a call of this nature being made can change the momentum of a game and possible a game ending call. With referees being able to be review the call made would give them a chance to reverse their call and make a huge decision in the game.
These rules are possible rule changes for next years football season and with these changes would make the game of football even more interesting than it already is.

Chief Kingdom may be on the rise again!

As being a long time fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and them being my hometown team I love to hear when the Chiefs have been making moves to make this next up incoming football season more enjoyable to watch. The Chiefs over the last weeks made some moves in the free agency that will really help them out for this next up and coming season.

This is a picture of one of my favorite players in the league and a Missouri Tiger native Jermey Maclin and in the past week this is one of the moves that Chiefs made that will drastically help the team. As being over a year since the Chiefs have had a wide receiver score a touchdown this man was great pick up and will more than likely end this drought.

Another move that the Chiefs made was adding three new offensive linemen to the roaster. These pick ups will be a great use to one of the biggest struggling points on the team last year. I hope that Chiefs fans are just as excited for this next football season as I am because I believe with these moves in the free agency the Chiefs will be a team to recon with in the league. 

Free Agency

For most teams in the NFL the free agency is a big time in the league. The free agency stands for a time that some of the best players in the NFL contracts are up. This is a time where players can either make new deals with the team they are currently on or they can explore for deals with a new team. This year for the free agency there is a lot of good athletes that contracts are up and are ready to deal.

Reggie Wayne

Reggie Wayne has been one of the most prestigious wide receivers in the game for many years. With that being said this year with his contract being up with the Colts, a team he has been with for many years, and him refusing to sign a new deal he is one of the best athletes up for grabs in this years free agency. 

Another athlete that is up for grabs this year in the free agency is the defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. He is a very good defensive tackle that has been a stand out since he has entered the NFL. He has played for the Detroit Lions since his rookie year, and has had some problems with fines from unsportsmanlike conduct on the field but even with these problems he will still be a great athlete for any team to sign and will bring great play to any team hes on.
